EASY EINKORN FLOUR PANCAKES

I was not always organized enough to remember to set the Sourdough Starter out the night before but wanted the wonderful taste…….

So, I decided to make a pancake batter recipe that tastes like Sourdough but was super easy and could be make right away.

Easy Pancakes make with Einkorn Flour and Organic Ingredients are healthy and delicious.

This Easy Einkorn Flour Pancakes Recipe can be doubled or tripled.

These Einkorn flour pancakes are Light, Fluffy and a Snap to Make…….Move over Store Bought Pancake Mixes………Here is your Easy Einkorn Flour Pancake Recipe!

 

I try to use organic ingredients whenever possible to increase the wholesome factor!!! So organic Einkorn Flour, organic Farm Fresh Eggs, organic Milk, organic plain yogurt and Avocado Oil (this is the very best deal that I have found on Avocado Oil) plus Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray!!!

But, this wonderful recipe will work with regular flour, too!

I love using my cast iron griddle for pancakes. We have done the majority of our sautéing and cooking in cast Iron Pans. I especially like using a Cast Iron Griddle

Make sure to find out how to clean and season your cast iron pans and griddles to keep them in tip top condition.

 

QUICK NOTES:

Vegan Einkorn Pancakes: substitute 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons water. Substitute rice milk or nut milk for the dairy milk and coconut yogurt for dairy yogurt.

Egg Free Einkorn Pancakes: substitute 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons water

Dairy Free Einkorn Pancakes: substitute rice milk or nut milk for the dairy milk and coconut yogurt for dairy yogurt.

Homemade Einkorn Flour Pancakes with a Sourdough Taste

Einkorn Pancakes fresh off the griddle all warm and ready to eat

Einkorn Flour Griddle Cakes taste like Sourdough Pancakes but without the extra work!!! Plain Organic Yogurt is the secret ingredient!!!

This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled as needed………and is perfect for both PANCAKES and WAFFLES!!!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Einkorn Flour
  • 1 Fresh Farm Egg
  • 1 Cup Organic Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mineral Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Plain, Organic Yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon Avocado Oil

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl, with a wire whip or hand mixer until well combined.
  2. Lightly oil your medium hot griddle or pan.
  3. Ladle 1/2 cup of the batter on to the griddle.
  4. Bake until bubbles appear.
  5. Carefully flip pancake or griddle cake and bake the other side.
  6. Serve Warm with Butter, Jam, Maple Syrup or Honey!!

    These are stupendous! Thanks for the awesome recipe. My husband’s reaction was so positive, I decided to try a few. I, too, was happy. I don’t even like pancakes, and I LOVED these!

    I must made these and my husband really liked them! I’ve been making low carb, GF pancakes with coconut flour or better with almond flour. These were really good and I will make them again.

    I only have einkorn berries that I grind into flour. Do you think I need to alter the recipe at all?

      You should be fine using the recipe as is. Your freshly ground wheat is a whole grain flour but since you are used to baking with whole grain flour, you should be okay. Maybe just let batter rest a little longer to absorb the liquid. Let me know how it goes!!!
