WELCOME
Hi, I’m Cathy
I am so glad you are here…it’s exciting to be able to share thoughts and ideas with you as you create your own original and unique style of handcrafted living! Take a few minutes to look around and discover simple ways to live a more hands-on, thoughtful and sustainable lifestyle no matter where you are.
You may start by planting a small garden and cooking from scratch and then think about buying fresh vegetables and fruits from a local roadside stand or farmer’s market……just remember that these small and simple things can make life more enjoyable!
And, the funny thing is that, this way of living may grow and grow on you and then you start thinking about getting a couple of chickens for fresh eggs and then maybe think, well….why not raise 20 laying hens and sell some eggs to offset our feed bill…..if that is the case, then you just might have homesteading fever! ♥

Where this all began…..WAY BACK WHEN…..
We started our homesteading adventure over 40 years ago…..this almost seems impossible…..and, to think this was before cell phones, iPhone, iPads and tablets! Goggle, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok……had not even been invented! Needless to say, we have so few original photos from way back then. I have been able to add some original photos of our baby chicks and dairy goats, and then some of our main garden, but not of our milk cow or our baby chick brooder set up in the horse trailer, etc……I will be adding more as I go through the boxes and boxes of snapshots!
And, we don’t have any photos of our family’s mowing business, called The Lawn Rangers!

AND, then, LEARNING EVERYDAY:
Our years were full with homeschooling our children, gardening and raising food. Along with preserving the harvest as well as discovering unique ways to create additional income while living a homesteading life. Some of these same ideas can be applied to just about anywhere you live, whether city or suburbs, on an acre in the country, in your backyard or in your apartment! They are so many things you can do no matter where you live!
We raised our seven children on my husband’s income from our log home business in our small western town in Wyoming. Living on one income taught us to embrace many money-saving tips through simple lifestyle choices. I love sharing what our family has learned over these past four decades; things that might be helpful as you strive towards a simple yet satisfying lifestyle.
We never thought of it as homesteading back then but more of a hands-on type living and then, it just became our way of life. We hope you will follow along and maybe even pick up a few tips and ideas to help you in your journey of creating the homesteading lifestyle of your dreams ♥
And now, what a blessing it is to think that I can share what we have learned over the years……I certainly hope you find something of interest!
